WE ARE GOING TO STATE!! (AGAIN!!)
Congratulations to the Falcon Band.
Our contest recording competed against bands from Lubbock, Amarillo, and Denton.
This means that the Symphonic Band's CD recording will compete at the Texas State Honor Band Contest in San Antonio on
Sunday, July 26th. We are guaranteed to be in the top 14 bands in the State of Texas ! At state, they will listen to our recording and rank all 14 bands. Congratulations also to our sister school Clark MS for also advancing to state!
The winner will perform in San Antonio next February!
We are so proud of all the hard work of the Symphonic Band and the ENTIRE Fowler Band!! Congratulations!!!!
SCHOOL OWNED INSTRUMENTS
(tubas, baritones, French horns, oboes, bassoons, tenor saxophones, bari saxophones, & bass clarinets)
They are back from the Repair Shop. The band hall will ONLY be open ON Wednesdays. Please come by the band hall on a Wednesday between 9am-5pm to pick-up your instrument for the summer. No usage fees are due until August.
New Beginning Band members taking summer private lessons can pick up their school-owned instrument 10 minutes before your first private lesson. Beginners who are NOT taking summer private lessons will NOT get an instrument until the start of school.
Fowler Band ADVANCES to the AREA HONOR BAND CONTEST.
The Fowler Band tied for First Place in the Region Honor Band Contest Monday, June 8th.
Competing against bands from Frisco, Carrollton-Farmers Branch, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Lake
Dallas, Little Elm, Grapevine, Colleyville, and South Lake-Carroll the Fowler Symphonic Band's Contest CD was selected to advance to the Area Level of the Texas State Honor Band Contest. The Area level contest will include middle school bands: North through Denton to the Texas-Oklahoma border, and WEST all the way to Lubbock. The Area also includes the entire Texas Panhandle.
Like the Region contest, Area contest (June 18th) is done by “blind audition” meaning the judges will not know the identity of the bands. If we are in the top TWO bands at Area we go to STATE!
Congratulations to all the Fowler Band students for their hard work in making this another GREAT YEAR!
